Where to eat in Monterosso….

Let’s start with our favorite place: a place to dream 🙂

“Radici by Miky” opened his door in May 2025 above Monterosso in a very quiet place, absolutely stunning for the view and the way it has been created. It is a magical place where you can have a delicious lunch of dinner and, good to know, there are three beautiful rooms open for guests as well.

You can reach this magical place even by foot (30min from old town) or by car (5min). They also have a private shuttle service which will pick you up in front of Miky Restaurant (if you stay in the New part of Monterosso) or at the end of Via Roma, in case you are settled in the Old Village.

Everything is thought in the details and the harmony between the materials of the construction and the furniture have the same good taste as the dishes that Boris & his staff will prepare for you ! Also their service is impeccable !!

BELVEDERE: you find it in the city center (Old town) and it is situated in the beginning of the way where the hiking path to Vernazza starts. It is a family business and Roberto is one of the owners: he is always in good mood and singing on his bike in Monterosso or in between the tables 🙂 You will be professionally served, you will eat in a fantastic way and you will certainly wish to return 🙂

It is a perfect place if you have large tables and children with you: they have special menu for kids and the prices are very well balanced with the quality which it offers.

Since you will see underneath a list of restauarants and many  plates of typical Ligurian food, I would like to get your curiosity looking at the pictures here below of a special meal which you can only find in Belvedere….”L’anfora”.

Apart from that, of course you can eat here all the appetizers, pasta’s and fish preparations as everywhere else…

In a tiny street (Via Vittorio Emanuele) on the left side coming from the main square of Old Monterosso, you will immediately discover L’OSTERIA, a very typical, small and always full restaurant. The menu isn’t large but the food is excellent and the service is very friendly.

Don’t miss here the “ravioli di branzino” (sea bass ravioli) and “insalata di polipo” octopus salad: they are very special prepared like anywhere else in town. Considering the smallness of the local, you really need to reserve a table or you might get any !!

In the same street (Via Vittorio Emanuele), keeep on walking and pass through Piazza dell’ Eliseo, until you find on the left side, Restaurant “28 posti” which is a small restaurant with a menu based on fresh products: in fact it changes very often and you are sure to eat very nicely and well prepared food !!

Chef Massimiliano can balance the dishes in a perfect way….

Of course, in the other side of Monterosso, where the apartments are locatated, there are also some excellent restaurants……

A short walk after the railway bridge of Via Molinelli (same street as AzzurroMare and IrisBlu), you will find LA TAVERNA restaurant, which makes also delicious pizza’s and Ligurian speciality. But there is more than this: on the menu there are also Sicilian dishes, since the roots of the owener, Piero, are that beautiful region of Italy. He knows what “good food” means also because in his “younger” days, was a chef himself. With a brand new bar buffet inside the restaurant, you will also be able to enjoy excellent aperitifs before starting the meal.

Going back to the corner of Via Molinelli and the Sea front……

The most known which doesn’t even need a presentation is MIKY: since 1980 they keep growing as one of the pillar of the top “haute cuisine” in the Cinque Terre.

“LA CANTINA di MIKY“

This very nicely equipped restaurant – belonging to the same family as Miky – is open all the day long and you can reserve a table outside or inside: this dining room (with AC) is in the cellar and it is perfect for a chilly day off season as well. Sitting outside during the warm months, you will enjoy very well prepared food with beautiful view and accompanied by a quick and attentive service. Cantna di Miky is certainly one of our favorite 🙂

“TORRE AURORA ….mare cucina & cockails“

This is, without exception, the most beautifully located restaurant in Monterosso !

Torre Aurora is the symbol of the village, built around the year 1000 to cope the attack of the pirates. Around the year 1200 it made part of Genova Republic, was fortified and used to prevent the incursions of barbarians. Many centuries afterwards, it was still in hand of the last (private) family owner who decided in 2017 offering everybody the possibility to admire it.

In fact, in this magical place, you can have just a cocktail, something small to eat or choose from their menu which is very nicely presented and will make your eyes and mouth happy and satisfied: only fresh and tasty combined ingredients.

“Taverna Galin” – Ristorante 🍽️🥂

Back in the old village of Monterosso: there is a quite new restaurant which has opened its door since a couple of yeras 😄 : “Taverna Galin” welcomes you for lunch and dinner and you will find a large choice of fish 🐟 and meat 🥩 dishes, beyond various pasta’s in Ligurian style and not only 😉 ….of course everything accompanied by local wines, bubbles and some other Italian region’s labels as well 🍷🍾
